For Cadre Members

This is a list of suggestions to be used as a guide for Cadre members:

(personal observations and tips from last semester)

1.) Introduce yourself to your students and class every period. Beside the initial greeting when students walk into the room,

explain why you are there, where the teacher is and something about the program.

2.) Teach all of the lesson we are instructed to teach from the lesson plans provided. If no lesson plans are provided ask some

of the students or same-subject teacher where they left off from their last lesson and use your best judgement from there. Teach nothing but the lesson your are asked to teach and try to instruct it all.

3.) If you use any teaching equipment or materials return them exactly where you found them. Remember you are in someone

     else's extension of their home.

4.) Treat every student with the up most respect and expect the same from them. Deal with any "situation" in a professional

manner. If possible, conduct any "situations" in a private, one-on-one setting.

5.) Provide every teacher with a detailed, positive if possible, written feedback form at the end of the day. List as much feedback

about how the day went as you can. Make sure to mention where you left off or departed from the lesson plan so the regular classroom

teacher can pick up where you left off the next day.

6.) And above all try to have fun, everything will fall into place if you do.

    For Teachers

Professional Cadre members are a special group of guest teachers to your classroom. The Cadre substitutes teach your regular classroom lesson, whether it is a movie, test, regular assignment or field trip in the same profession manner as the classroom teacher would do as if they had never left their classroom. These certified professionals are highly trained to add their own years of experience and professional development to not-skip-a-beat in your classroom activities and teach them all well. The only preparation you will need to do is to provide a lesson plan to the cadre member upon arrival to your classroom and expect the lesson to be completed by the end of the day. All members will provide you with a written feedback form about the activities in your classroom when you return to your class the next day. Thank you for requesting a professional development cadre member and enjoy your professional day with no worries.
