PowerPoint Tips: 1) Use a vertical page set-up. 2) Use Word Art for title lettering. 3) Look at other movie posters and see how they are formatted. 4) Save often to avoid losing your work. 5) Use Costa's "Three Level Intellect" to help you write your questions.

Week Four Activities

1. Work on reading your book.

2. Create at least three dialetical journal pages.

3. Create a plot diagram and movie poster for your book. Use the link to the blank plot diagram on the left hand side of the page. Fill it out according to your book. For the movie poster, use PowerPoint to create a movie poster for your book as if it was going to be made into a feature film.

Movie Poster Requirements:

a) Must be a PowerPoint slide.

b) Must include the title and author of the book.

c) Must include a 75-150 word "teaser" description to grab the interest of the reader. In your description you must use at least THREE higher level (Costa's level two or three) questions. See the link to the left for examples of higher level questions.

d) Include the cast of major players.

e) Create a one-line "tag-line" that will be on your poster.

f) Include pictures.
