Don Quixote

Short story

Student chooses a short story (in Spanish) for literary analysis.  Assignment will consist of a 2-page, double-spaced, 12 font typed literary analysis that discusses all of the following:

 

  • Introduction of author – short biography of author including major works
  • Discussion of major themes or leitmotifs in the author’s body of work
  • Introduction of short story – brief history of story (i.e. publication date) & overview of plot
  • Analysis of essential plot elements: setting, imagery, characterization, conflict, point of view, etc.
  • Discussion of theme
 

Novel

Student chooses a novel (in Spanish) for literary analysis.  Assignment will consist of a 2-page, double-spaced, 12 font typed literary analysis that discusses all of the following:

 

  • Introduction of author – short biography of author including major works

  • Introduction of novel – brief summary of plot
  • Analysis of essential plot elements: setting, imagery, characterization, conflict, point of view
  • Discussion of theme
