You will write a 5 paragraph essay describing the contributions made towards the American Revolution and 2 learner profile traits of your individual.

Paragraph 1: Introduction - Catch reader's interests with an attention getter, perhaps a questions or interesting fact about your person. Then write a thesis statement, a sentence telling the audience the topic of the essay. Present the main ideas your paper will address. Don't forget the transition statement.

Paragraph 2: First Learner Profile trait- this paragraph should be at least 7-10 sentences, begin with a topic sentence, describe the learner profile trait and then give supporting details. Remember, you aren't trying to summarize everything about your person; there are books about him/her. Focus on your inquiry questions and give at least three details/examples from the person's life that supports the learner profile trait with important/interesting things or events from their life during the revolutionary war. Don't forget the transition statement.

Paragraph 3: Second Learner Profile trait- this paragraph should be at least 7-10 sentences, begin with a topic sentence, describe the learner profile trait and then give supporting details. Remember, you aren't trying to summarize everything about your person; there are books about him/her. Focus on the inquiry questions and give at least three details/examples from the person's life that supports the learner profile trait with important/interesting things or events from their life during the revolutionary war. Don't forget the transition statement.

Paragraph 4: Contribution(s) to American History - this paragraph should be 7-10 sentences. Begin with a topic sentence and then give supporting details. Describe the contributions to the American Revolution. Then describe the affect it has had on American history. Don't forget the transition statement.

Paragraph 5: Conclusion – Summarize the main points of your paper, include the two learner profile traits and the main contribution the person made during the American Revolution. Include a personal statement on how you can relate to the person’s learner profile or are grateful for their contribution that he/she made, be specific. 

     

      Plagiarism

    Plagiarism includes:

    • copying text without giving proper credit to the original author or source
    • copying information from Internet sites and passing it off as your own
    • using someone else's paper or project and turning it in as your own

    Avoiding plagiarism:

    • take citation notes on every source (title, author, publisher, publication date, url, date accessed)
    • place quotation marks around directly quoted text and include author's name and title of publication
    • paraphrase correctly
    • ALWAYS cite your sources
