Can you Do the following?

  1. Name the major layers of the epidermis and dermis and describe their functions.
  2. Identify the following structures of the integumentary system, and the function of each: melanin, sweat glands, oil glands, eccrine glands, apocrine glands, hair follicle, arrector pili, hair, and nail.
  3. Analyze how the skin accomplishes at least five different functions.
  4. Assess how homeostatic mechanisms in the body would respond to integumentary imbalances such as burns or skin cancers.
