Overview

This week students will begin reading To Kill a Mockingbird. They will be working on background information in regards to getting to know the author and understanding the time period that the book was written. Students will also be writing a short argument piece that mirrors some major themes in the novel. They will also be analyzing the text to determine the meaning of specific quotes and determining how those quotes play a role in setting and characters.

Additional Information

Please make sure you have your To Kill a Mockingbird Book as well as the study guide that will be used for the rest of the novel.

Handouts/Notes

Please check the RED folders in the back of the room, I do not have digital copies of the handouts this week. Also, please make sure you have completed all of your journal entries and daily grammar.
