Component 2: Task

2.   Task:  The task is the official explanation of what students will accomplish by the conclusion of the WebQuest.  It is the main research question.  The first step is finding resources on the Web that cover the topic to be investigated.  The next step is to design a doable and interesting activity for the students that incorporates the information gathered from the various Web resources.  The task is the most difficult aspect of creating a WebQuest, and must be done creatively.  The task should be fun and interesting for the students, important to society or the world as a whole, and visually appealing.  It is helpful to show the students several examples of previous students work that showcase a range of effort and success.  This will allow them to visualize what their own expectations (and yours) might be for the finished project.
