NHD Overview

National History Day is an academic program in a competitive format. Students excel not by winning, but by mastering knowledge about an historic event, improving their research skills, and learning how to successfully convey their knowledge to others.

 

Important Dates

Upcoming dates for National History Day competitions

  • Saturday, Feb 20th, 2010: East Valley Competition
    The East Valley Competition will be held at Aprende Middle School in Chandler.
  • Saturday, Apr 10th, 2010: State Competition
    The State Competition will be held in Fountain Hills at the Fountain Hills Middle School.
  • Sunday, Jun 13th, 2010 to Thursday, Jun 17th, 2010: National History Day Competition
    The week-long National History Day contest is held at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland.
