Books for Teaching the Six Traits

Almost any book can be used to teach the traits. Choose a book which is heavy in the  writing trait you wish to teach.  Books are an excellent resource for modeling the expectations in each trait.

Mad Libs for Kids

Use these mad libs to help your child practice the parts of speech.  Have your child rewrite the mad libs by deleting sentences and adding their own in.
